Following on from the success of last year’s event we return to Statfold Barn again on Saturday 18th April, open to members from 10am to 4pm.
It will be held at Statfold Barn, Statfold Country Park, Ashby Road, Tamworth B79 0BU.
There will be a variety of displays and exhibits, including at least one Gauge 1 track, and will be supported by both traders and societies.
LAYOUTS
The show is being arranged and run by the Midland’s Group on behalf of G1MRA. Features will include the Anglia Roads layout, courtesy of the East Anglian Group. This layout features two tracks mainly used for live steam, plus an additional circuit for on board battery powered models.
The Yorkshire Group are bringing their Moordale terminus layout and the Vintage Group will once again have a working display of commercial models from the early 1900’s.
Running slots on any of these layout will be available by booking directly with the layouts on the day, so please bring something to run.
G1MRA fuel Protocols will be in use, liquid fuel will be provided, please bring your own gas, coal and water. As the event is open to the public live steam locomotives will require a current boiler certificate, which must be available for inspection.
For anyone without a loco and wishing to have a try, the Midlands Group live steam 4F will be available for a run under the guidance of an experienced operator. Slots will be limited, so if you are interested please email westkev58@gmail.com.

Alongside the Gauge 1 activities the Statfold attractions will be open, including the new Fairground Museum and the 2′ gauge railway will be in operation.
Entry cost: Members plus 1 additional person will be admitted for the discounted rate of £10 per person.

Travelling to the show (information taken from the venue website)
By train: The nearest mainline rail station is at Tamworth, in the town centre. From there, you can take a taxi up the Ashby Road to Statfold Country Park.
By bus: Currently there are no public bus services running past Statfold.
Driving: Statfold Country Park is located on the Ashby Road and is easily accessed from the M42 junction 11 or through Tamworth along the B5493. Just look out for the signs and the big red Cadbury locomotive which marks the entrance.
